It was historically used for transporting people and goods (especially port wine) along the Douro River. I love how boats each have their own unique characteristics. This boat has a long wooden pole at its rear which is used for steering; its what gave the rabelo boat its nickname of little tail. Whats your favorite boat? Does it have a name?
